How to care for the kidney belt:

This sheep wool product is low maintenance. You don't have to wash it, yet it will last for decades with proper care. All you need to do is shake it regularly and air it out in the fresh air.

Minor soiling (such as spillages) can be washed very carefully by hand in lukewarm water at up to 30 °C. Add a product containing lanolin to the water, which not only washes the product but also treats it.

Do not wring out the woollen product, just squeeze it lightly and leave it to dry loosely spread out horizontally at room temperature. Do not dry it on a radiator or in direct sunlight. Do not use a tumble dryer. Do not iron.

We do not recommend machine washing this product. However, if you do decide to use a washing machine, please ensure that your washing machine is suitable for washing wool products, preferably with Woolmark Apparel care certification. Always choose a gentle hand wash or wool wash programme and a maximum temperature of 30°C. Higher temperatures will cause the wool to shrink. Do not use fabric softener or products with bleach or other aggressive substances. Choose special wool products such as lanolin.

In the case of heavier soiling, we recommend that you take your wool products to a professional dry cleaner, who will only dry clean the wool.

Sheep wool products are very easy to maintain. Thanks to the natural content of lanolin, wool can clean itself. You support this process by regular shaking and ventilation in fresh air. This will keep the material fluffy and soft, remove excess moisture from the wool and limit the reproduction of mites. Also, the natural smell of wool will disappear more quickly through ventilation.

When cleaning wool, use only products designed to treat wool, such as Lanolin detergent. To clean one spot, use a soft damp cloth and Lanolin mixed in a spray bottle with water. You can also hand wash the product in a lukewarm bath at a constant temperature of up to 30 °C. Add a preparation containing Lanolin to the water, which will not only clean the wool but also treat it naturally.

Do not wring the washed product, just wring it gently and let it dry, ideally in a horizontal position. Never dry wool on a heater, and also avoid direct sunlight. Do not use a clothes dryer either.

We do not recommend washing sheep wool products in the washing machine. This can cause the material to deteriorate.
If there is heavy soiling, it is possible to take the woolen products to a professional dry cleaner. In the cleaning plant, the material can only be cleaned by dry cleaning.
