Tibet is a mountainous landscape with harsh natural conditions, the majority of the territory of Tibet is located on the Tibetan Plateau, where the average altitude reaches about 4,900 m above sea level. On the seemingly barren slopes of the mountains and foothills, however, herbs and trees grow with great healing potential.

The herbs are carefully harvested and rolled into scented strings (dhupaya) or incense sticks according to ancient Ayurvedic recipes. Tibetan and Nepali incense sticks are very different from Indian or Japanese incense sticks, they have a rough structure, greater thickness, when burning we can encounter a strong spicy earthy smell, reminiscent of harsh high mountain life.
